Meet the Barbers of Team Rico's.
Mr. Washington is a proud native of Mobile, Alabama. After retiring from the Marine Corps in 1994, he completed Barber College in San Diego, California, while receiving his Master Barber’s License that same year. He has a proven record of accomplishments, operating, and managing businesses in the haircare industry. He previously owned and operated Tri-City Square Barber Shop, in Vista, California. He is the owner and founder of both Rico’s Barber Shop, Rico’s Hair Fashion Design and Barber Shop in Murrieta, California. He is now the sole owner and operator of Rico’s Barber Shop & Styles in Murrieta. He has served on the Orange County Barbering Apprenticeship Council and is currently serving as Coordinator for the San Bernardino/Riverside Counties Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC).
Charles is a prominent member of the barbering and residential community. He has been instrumental in helping prospective barbers in their pursuit and acclimation into the haircare industry. Many of which have grasp the finer aspects of business operation and moved on to start their business challenges. Upon arrival to the Inland Empire region, Charles volunteered to work at the Poll on Election Days, this lead him to found the Murrieta Unified Political Action Committee (MUPAC). During his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with family, playing golf, and mentoring young men into becoming productive citizens. In past years, before retiring after 33 years, he was a sports referee at the high school level in San Diego County. He holds a Masters of Business Administration Degree from University of Phoenix and is in the process of writing his dissertation for his Doctorate in Business from Argosy University.
Justice is a native of Californian, born in Wildomarand a class of 2017 graduate of Paloma High School of Menifee. During high school he played the Alto Saxophone in the band and also studied and learned to communicate in Spanish. An additional extracurricular activity he participated in was basketball. According to Justice his proudest high school moments were being selected as a Desert Valley All-Starand the Defensive Player of the year for 2016-2017.
After school, Justice contends he was pondered various trades as he worked at an auto dealership performing maintenance on vehicles. Justice noted he played around cutting friends hair until he was approached by his barber to join the professional ranks of haircare practitioners. Shortly thereafter, he enrolled in the Inland Valley Career Center, Pre-application Barber apprenticeship Program and onward to the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Program. Justice would love to cater to your hair care desires.
Joshua (aka Josh) is a native Californian and currently residing in Menifee. He is a proud graduate of Paloma High School with the class of 2019. After completing high school, according to Josh, he worked various types of business for example Child Daycare and Girl Scout of America. Josh contends the jobs payed the bills with the minimal hours he was afforded, however, the positions provided neither hope for a career opportunity nor aspects for upwards mobility.
Josh says he fell in love with being a barber long ago but never investigated the process of obtaining a license. "I have been a haircutter for a while but now I decided to pursue the avenue of becoming a licensed Master Barber". Josh completed the Barbering Pre-apprenticeship Course with the Inland Career Education Center located in San Bernardino. Thereafter, he enrolled into the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Council Program and subsequently was offered a position with Team Rico’s. Andrew is a native Californian, residing in Menifee. He attended Paloma Valley High School until 2020. After high school, Andrew contends he worked at various corporate retail outlets. According to Andrew, the desire to enter the haircare industry was always a high priority for him but life situations prevented due to the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Although, not licensed professionally, Andrew notes he purchased professional barbering tools and commenced practicing on friends and relatives.
Andrew attended the Inland Career Education Center Barbering Pre-Apprenticeship Course and later joined the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Council’s program. Andrew takes the view that he enjoys cutting all styles of hair and seeing the expression of gratification on his client. A proud addition to the Team Rico’s barbering staff.
Kyron Wooley was born in San Diego Californian. The family relocated to Murrieta during the summer of 2010. Kyron is a graduate of Paloma Valley High School Class of 2017. After graduating high school, he joined the U. S. Army. Upon being discharged in 2020 he worked as a laborer being a Plummer assistant. As the pandemic curtailed his opportunities, he decided to join the haircare industry. Kyron completed the Barbering Pre-apprenticeship Program with the Inland Career Education Center and joined the Barbering apprenticeship program with Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Council with emphasis on obtaining his Master Barber License. Kyron joined Team Rico’s to perfect his talent.
Jason is a native Californian, born and raised in San Diego. Currently residing in the inland Empire. He is a graduate of Vista Murrieta High School, class of 2007. After high school, Jason immediately entered the haircare industry. He was one of the original Team Members of Rico’s Barbershop off Scott Road. Jason contends that cutting hair doesn’t feel like work due to the in-depth conversations he holds with his clients. He believes that he genuinely has a passion for being a barber. He accepts walk-ins or accepts appointments.
Dominique is a native of White Haven Tennessee. She is a graduate of Fairley High school. According to Dominique after graduating she held down various jobs, but not met up to her expectations or abilities. She relocated to California to be with her spouse and pursue a career in the hair care industry. She attended the Inland Career Education Center Barbering Pre-apprentice program to gather the finer aspects of what is required within the health, sanitation, and hygiene arena while working as a practitioner. Dominique recently acquired her license and is a welcome addition to Rico's Team of barbers.
Alyssa is a native Temecula Californian. She is a Temecula Valley High School graduate, class of 2018. After high school, Alyssa attended Palomar College, San Marcos and later Arizona State University being awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Digital Audiences. After college Alyssa worked several food and customer service jobs. According to Alyssa, she always had an interest in the haircare industry but had to wait for the right time to make the transition. Alyssa completed the Barbering Pre-apprenticeship Class at the Inland Career Education Center and the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Counsel. Rico’s Barbershop welcomes Alyssa to the team.
Zack is a native Californian, born in Twentynine Palms. Yes, Zack was a military brat and former active duty Marine himself. In 2005, Zack’s family relocated to the Inland Empire, during Zack’s high school years. He graduated from Paloma Valley High School with the class of 2013. Thereafter, he joined the military and upon discharge. Zack attended Mount San Jacinto Community College, Menifee campus from 2019 to 2021. Shortly thereafter, Zack attended Paul Mitchell the School of Barbering and later transitioned training with the We Care Plumbing and Air Conditioning School. Zack realized his true calling was to be in the haircare industry. Zack completed the Barbering Pre-apprentice Training with the Inland Career Education Center, San Bernardino Campus and followed with his apprenticeship training with the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Council for licensing. Zack joined Team Rico’s during December 2023.
Warnest is a native Californian, hailing from Perris. He is a 2023 graduate from Temescal Canyon High School. After graduation, Warnest embarked upon a career in Security. Realizing later he really wanted a career in the haircare industry. According to Warnest, his strengths are personal communication and being an attentive listener. Both of which is a must in the barbering field. Warnest joined the Inland Career Education Center’s Barbering Pre-apprenticeship Course. Thereafter, he joined the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Council’s Barbering program as an apprentice. Warnest noted he enjoy cutting all types of hair. He is a welcome member to the Rico’s Team of Barbers. He will accept either walk-ins or by appointment.
Damon is a California native, hailing from Lancaster. He is a graduate from Learning for Life Charter School, class of 2017. He relocated to the Inland Empire during 2019. Upon settling and after the Covid-19 lockdown, according to Damon he worked several retail and warehouse jobs. Damon noted he always had a desire to enter the haircare industry as a barber. He is married and enjoys his spare time with wife and kids. Damon, entered Inland Career Education Center’s Pre- apprenticeship Program and onward to the Southern California Barbering Apprenticeship Council’s Program. Damon accepts walk-in or by appointment.
